Here are a few ways you can use your Groupon:

• Register for any of our Language Fundamentals classes for Spring (class sessions are two hours and meet weekly for nine weeks, starting the week of April 5th), choosing between Spanish, Italian, French, Mandarin or Arabic. Enter the coupon code GROUPON-ADULTS at checkout and include your Groupon number in the Comments field at check-out. Your total will be $216 instead of $324. You're also entitled to a complimentary 30-minute private session that you can use to assess your level to ensure that you're placed correctly - or you can convert it to an extra hour of a group class (we'll refund you the difference). Not sure you want to commit to a whole session? That's OK, too. Just select 'check' as method of payment at checkout so you won't be prompted for a credit card, and let us know later if you'd like to continue.

• Enjoy any of our upcoming 7-hour Mini-Boot Camp sessions, some of which are on Saturdays while others meet for 3 1/2 hours for two weekday evenings. Use coupon code GROUPON-BC at checkout, and you're set with a zero balance!

• For those with kids ages 1-5, register for any of our Kids' Classes (Spanish, French or Mandarin) using the coupon code GROUPON-KIDS at checkout (please enter your Groupon number in the Comments section). You will be prompted to pay for just the remaining 3 classes, for a total of $60.

Guidelines

• Bilingual Boot Camps: For our Groupon purchasers, we have designed what we refer to as Mini-Bilingual Boot Camp for beginner level Spanish, French, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic and Polish (and perhaps others down the road!). The Mini Boot Camp includes 7 hours of language lessons in either a full-day or two-day format. They are an excellent option for our Groupon users who are unsure or able to commit to our fundamentals courses that meet once or twice a week over a 9-week period (and for some languages, we haven't had enough interest to create an ongoing program, so we're starting with Boot Camps to see if we can generate that interest). The Groupon deal was for 6 hours of group classes and a 30-minute consultation. We have found that many people would rather convert their 30-minute session into something else, so our Boot Camp programs are now seven hours, plus snacks and drinks (coffee/tea/wine/pop). We're confident that you'll walk away feeling like you got far more than $133 worth of value!

• Adult Fundamentals Courses: Our Language Fundamentals program is our core program for adults. Classes are usually small in size (approximately 6-10). Most classes meet once a week for an hour and fifty minutes; however, we offer some intensive courses for students who would like more repetition and practice with their language lessons (these courses meet twice a week for 90 minutes at a time). While our weekly classes cover a total of 18 hours of language lessons, our intensive courses cover 27 hours of language lessons. If you would like to apply your Groupon towards one of our adult fundamentals courses, you would be covered for the first 2-3 weeks of class, depending on whether or you enroll in a weekly or intensive class. To register for an 18-hour class with your Groupon, you would only pay for 12 hours ($216). To register for an intensive (27-hour) class, you would pay for only 21 hours ($378).
  For those Groupon users who aren't ready to commit to a full session, we will be setting aside 4 spaces per class. While we hope that you will enjoy the classes so much that you'll stay for the whole thing (and future sessions, too!), we know that there are many reasons why this may not be possible. On our side, if enrollment dips below 4 people, we need to cancel the class, and for the sake of committed students, we'd like to avoid having to do that! For our Fundamentals courses, if you'd like to use your Groupon, we ask that you redeem it starting from the beginning of the 9-week session. We do not offer refunds if you are sick or have to miss a class, but you are welcome to make up a class that same week if another one is offered.

• Kids' Classes: If you purchased your Groupon with the intention of enrolling your child in a language class, your Groupon will cover the first 6 weeks of class given (kids' classes are an hour in length). If you would like to stay beyond the 6 weeks of your Kids' course (and most people do) you would simply pay the prorated rate for the remaining 3 weeks of class (3 hours x $20/hour). If your child is sick or cannot attend class, you are welcome to make up a session within one week of absence.

• 30-Minute Consultation: In addition to your six hours of class, the deal offered a half-hour consultation with either an instructor or Multilingual Chicago representative in the language you are studying. You may use this consultation at any time during the term. However, if you need help determining your appropriate class level, it is beneficial to use your consultation to speak with an instructor before the term begins so that you can be placed accurately. This can be done over the phone or in person. In addition, if you are enrolled in a Language Fundamentals course and would like to convert your 30-minute consultation into one more week in your adult fundamentals course, you may do that as well. For kids' classes, you can also trade it for another week of class. If you would like to schedule a consultation, please give us as much notice as possible (a week is ideal). For Boot Camps, as explained above, you're swapping your consultation for an extra hour of group class.

• Private Tutoring: As private classes are more specialized and are of greater value ($50 per hour), you may use your Groupon purchase for a total of 3 hours of private tutoring (2 90-minute sessions) for the languages we currently offer. The value of the Groupon is $133, but we're happy to round up and provide a full three hours, but obviously there is no separate consultation when you go this route. It is our standard policy that private sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice require full payment, so while you're not paying outright, you will forfeit your session should you cancel with insufficient notice.
